Boss Monkeys:
Tony, Amy & Hugo worked together to get the Monkey open in under 2 months, start to finish. Tony provided most of the funds, Hugo did most of the legwork, and Amy fielded a lot of the phone calls, kept utility appointments, and did all the design, including our Monkey logo and this website. They've all kept their day jobs so they can prop the store up during the shaky first year, Tony in IT, Hugo as a Designer, and Amy as a freelance Graphic Designer with her own business, Not Dead Yet Studios. Amy also has a pinup illustration in the premiere issue of Shonen, an anthology graphic novel of original yaoi comics, which we do in fact carry at the Monkey -- it's our only "adult" item!

Worker Monkeys: Rob Van Brunt is the Store Manager at the Monkey. Rob is a lifelong comics fan and cartoonist who likes to spread the comic book love to everyone. He also writes and draws his own webcomic, the Robman Show, which is webmastered by Boss Monkey Amy. Although he doesn't have a livejournal of his own, one of his characters, Plushie Cthulhu, likes to share his love of tacos with the world here. Orin McFeron is the Monkey's monkey, so to speak, being the only employee with no authority over anyone whatsoever. Orin would like to say that he is not in any way the inspiration for the monkey, despite the fact that he IS a monkey. Orin has requested we not give you a link to his live journal, as he believes that he is too angsty and whiny. Trust us, he's right.

We'd also like to thank Doc (aka Pete Healey) of Doc's BBQ (aka Burning Cow), his annual birthday barbecue, for doing pretty much all the real work on the inside of the store and kindly volunteering to help out with the big party in November. Thanks to Scooter of Coyote Signs for all his help, with the interior and exterior design, making the signs themselves and giving us endless encouragement. Most of all, thanks to everyone who lent a hand for food or free during the painting and construction: Spike, Aya, Meg, Maya, Cahn, Drave, and everyone else we've forgotten.
